It is seven in the evening so I will type awhile. It is another of those terrible days, blowing snow flying and roads and walks drifted. No mail all day, no buses no school no nothing. It is a real winter so stormy almost every day. I haven't seen Mom for a week tomorrow. I am assuming she is alright or I would have heard. I will go up the first day it is fit. One whirl per winter is all in want. I don't think there has been a train through today. Received your letter Ruth glad you folks had a nice trip home.

The second Christmas on Thursday was as exciting as the first when the last 2 big boxes arrived. The children are just thrilled with everything. We had our presents on Christmas Eve, as usual, except the things from Santa. Cheryl doesn't really believe in Santa and yet she seems real sincere in thinking he's coming

Dear Family,
A letter from Lois says they are planning to be in Chi in July too, and as we don't want to be there at the same time (since they are planning to visit us in Wichita later) we have reversed our dates and as it stands now we will be in Chicago July 4th and stay till about the 10th

Dear Lillian and Mary -
I want to get this written before the girls get up and Susan's roommate gets here. She planned to come for the whole vacation but decided she should go home for the week. They go back to Lincoln Sunday. I've enjoyed the nice visits with Susan and we've kept busy. I've been so involved in our church and Bldg. Campaign and phone lists - I said to Stuart maybe we'd better find an old established church in Pueblo :).

Dear Family:
I guess your weather has been about the same as ours - plenty of cold and snow.
I mailed a package of gloves to you - you probably have received them by now - they should have been returned long ago. They came in our package from you at Christmas time and I hope this has not caused you too much embarrassment. They didn't fit Stuart and we didn't know who Mark was :) .

Dear Mary and Lillian,
Well, how are you - I'll bet you were worn out when yu got to Chicago Mary - we were all concerned about that bus trip and hope that it won't take too long to get the kinks out. I had hoped that the trip would be good for you this time and appreciated your going with me.
The aby was just fine when I left. Sat. nite I decided may be she would be happier with 3 ounces every 2 hrs. instead of 4 oz. every 3 hrs. and it worked like a charm

The word Jeter in the French language means "to throw", and since the American name Jeter is spelled the same way, it helps to add truth to the tradition that the first Jeters came from France and were of French Hugenot origin.

Funeral Sermon by Reverend Theo Krumery for Dr. John D. Reid
November 13, 1962
This occasion is to me full of solemnity and also full of inspiration. It is full of solemnity in that it reminds us that, like Dr. Reid, we shall some day, perhaps not far away, be called to close our office or place of business for the last time, and stand ourselves for final judgement in the supreme court of the universe. It is full of inspiration when I think of the consecration and devotion to the high calling of God upon the life of the doctor. Dr. Reid believed that a man's first allegence wsas to his Creator, and that if a man be true to his God he cannot be false to his brother.

Hello everyone. I just woke up here in Tucson, having had a pretty amazing dream.
In the dream, I was here in our new house, which has a large-ish, open dining room that looks out onto the back yard. As I walked out of the bedroom and into that room, I was pleasantly surprised to discover Rachel and my mom sitting at the dining table talking and drinking coffee. I said good morning to everyone and went into the kitchen to get myself some coffee. Rachel and my mom were just chatting and laughing.
When I went back and sat down at the table with them, everything seemed pretty normal--except that I knew that my mom had died. I kept thinking: "This is really strange. I know she's not here, but here she is!"
For some reason there was a very small diorama on the table--maybe 18" square--that I apparently had made. It was the kind of quaint little town you might see at a model railroading club. My mom looked at it admiringly and said "Did you make this?" I said yes and she said "Ken! It's beautiful!"
She went to pick it up and as she did, we all noticed that there were two "big" pine trees that were pretty wobbly. I said, "I'm not done with it yet. And obviously I have to fix those trees." I reached for the diorama and she handed it to me, smiling. "I really like all the people walking down the street, going about their busy lives," she said.
Taking the diorama, I looked at the underside and discovered that the two retaining clips holding the trees in place had come loose. Conveniently--if only real life were as convenient as dreams--I had a small plastic cylinder (almost like a clear
